Christmas Eve Candlelight Service 9 pm ~ December 24, 2013….Everyone Welcome
December 8, 2013 ~ 7:00 pm
The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites
family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one
hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers,
sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. At 7:00 pm, local
time, hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held and
thousands of informal candle lightings are conducted in homes as
families gather in quiet remembrance of children who have died,
but will never be forgotten.
Now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe,
the 17th Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting is a gift to the
bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends. It
creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from one time
zone to another. Started in the United States in 1997 as a small
internet observance, it has since swelled in numbers as word has
spread throughout the world of the remembrance.
We invite you all to join in this memorial, remembering all children who left too soon.
ST. PETER’S of the LAKES
St. Peter’s is a warm and inviting group of Episcopalians eager to share the word of God and spread His love. Our service is rich in faith and tradition. We believe that all are equal and have a place at God’s table.
